FULL ITINERARY

Day 1: Welcome to Lima, Peru

At your arrival you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Miraflores.

Day 2: Lima City tour

Today we will take you on a Private City tour. (Tour can be done in the morning or afternoon) You will have the opportunity to visit one of the most important architectural constructions of the 17th century, Convent of Saint Francis. This complex has a small square, the convent and church. Its cloisters have beautiful tiles and one can visit the catacombs which are more than 300 years old. We then visit the three most important sites from colonial times: Plaza Mayor, plaza San Martin, Palacio de Gobierno (known as the house of Pizarro), and the Municipality, preserving their original architecture.

This 3-hour sightseeing tour offers the best of colonial and modern Lima. The tour ends with a visit to the modern suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean.  You will be returned to your hotel.

Day 3: Lima – Paracas

You will be picked up from your hotel in Lima and then transferred to the bus station of Cruz del Sur where you will board a tourist bus. The bus journey from Lima to Paracas takes 3 hours. Upon you arrival in Paracas, you will be met at the bus station by one of our Representatives, and afterwards you will be transferred to the designated hotel. Rest of the day free to relax in front of the beach. Overnight in Paracas.

Day 4: Paracas and Ballestas – Nazca

You will be picked up from your hotel in Paracas and then transferred to the dock of Paracas where we will take a speed boat to visit the Ballestas Islands. During our boat excursion to the Islands you will see many attractions, among them, stands out a huge design etched on the slope of hill, known by the local people as The Candelabra. This is an enormous figure that can be seen clearly from the sea. Our local guide will explain the most important theories concerning this drawing.

Afterwards, we will continue our excursion around the Ballestas Islands, where you will see hundreds of birds flying (Peruvian Bobbies, Inca terns, Pelicans, Cormorants and others) above the Islands, as well as dozens of sea lions on the shore of the beaches, and if you are lucky you also can see the famous Humboldt Penguins and dolphins swimming nearby. It is not permitted to land on the Island, which means you will spend all the tour on the boat.

After our visit to the islands, we will visit the Paracas Peninsula by land. During our excursion to the Paracas Reserve, we will drive across a yellowish desert, following a dirt road till the cliff where once stood the gorgeous natural rock formation known as the Cathedral. (Unfortunately this great rock formation was destroyed by a powerful earthquake in 2007). The scenery around is still very beautifull and clients can walk along the edge of the ocean and take photos. Finally we will take you to the little village of Lagunillas for lunch. Here there are various restaurants overlooking the ocean that serve mainly fresh fish in their menus. Later on, you will be transferred to the bus station to take a tourist bus to Nazca. Upon your arrival in Nazca, you will be met by one of our representatives at the bus station and then you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 5: Nazca – Arequipa

You will be picked up by our local guide in Nazca and then will be transferred to the Nazca airdrome to do the flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines. We will fly over an enigmatic zone, where hundreds of years ago ancient Peruvians drew huge designs that can be seen only from the air. Among the figures we will see an enormous representation of a monkey, a hummingbird, a condor, and a strange creature known as the Spaceman. The Nazca Lines flight lasts 35 minutes. Afterwards you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Afterwards we pick you up from your hotel and then transfer you to the bus station of Cruz del sur to take the Cruzero bus to the city of Arequipa.
